O Iva
My understanding of learning processes, educational psychology, and intercultural communication draws on my multicultural background and experiences, my studies in psychology, and my broad knowledge of multilingual communication. I teach languages skillfully and with cultural sensitivity, and I work with people from diverse backgrounds.
I offer lessons in Slovene, Dutch and Croatian.
I work with professionals, students, and other adults who have a desire or need to learn a new language. In my work, I use original materials tailored to each individual. I have collaborated with the Ljubljana City Library, the Department of Dutch Language and Culture at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, Panteon College language school, and Lingula language school. I regularly collaborate with the Moja Mavrica Institute, where I teach individual and group courses in and support linguistics students in honing their teaching skills.
I am an enthusiastic language learner myself.

I’ve been teaching languages since 2016, and I can help you gain the confidence to use Slovene in everyday situations; whether you’re preparing to move or study abroad, talking with relatives, or getting ready for language exams.
What stands out about my approach is that my goal is that you don't need me anymore. In every lesson, you get new knowledge about grammar structures and vocabulary, and also instructions of how you can get the most learning experience from your everyday life, essentially I teach you how to teach yourself. In this way, no lesson is "wasted", as you always gain something you can multiply and use in different contexts.
I’d be happy to meet with you for a free introductory lesson to see how you can achieve your language goals as quickly and effectively as possible. I teach with enthusiasm and effectiveness, and my students’ successes (such as enrolling in a degree program in their target language, earning the highest-level certificates and passing citizenship exams, or happily reporting that they can understand their grandchildren without any trouble) further motivate and encourage me.
